2022 Coal Association of Canada Conference
The Coal Association of Canada (CAC) will be holding our annual conference September 21 – 23, 2022. Come join us in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre for Canada’s premiere coal conference as we focus on Canada’s Coal: On The Road To Energy Security.
Every year, the conference attracts a diverse group of delegates from across the country and around the world representing the broad spectrum of the coal industry as well as federal, provincial, and municipal government representatives. The annual CAC Conference provides important and timely market and industry updates to its members, and industry representatives and will explore the benefits that the Canadian coal industry has to offer the world. You will also gain a broader understanding of the Canadian and global coal industry from Canadian and internationally renowned industry leaders, analysts and experts, panel discussions, and fellow delegates.
We are very pleased to welcome back Robert W. Bell as one of our conference moderators. A renowned coal industry professional, he will provide invaluable insight into the industry as he dialogues with presenters.
Joining Robert as co-moderator will be Neil Bristow, Managing Director for H&W Worldwide Consulting Pty Ltd. Neil is known throughout the industry and to our returning delegates. He brings with him decades of expertise in steel, metallurgical coal, iron ore and as usual has his finger on the pulse of emerging markets.
The Coal Association of Canada is also excited to continue our partnership with the Western Canadian Coal Society (WCCS) for our 2022 Technical Program. The WCCS will expertly curate the program that takes place on Wednesday, September 21, ahead of our always-popular Welcome Reception.
Following the opening Keynote Address from Ernie Thrasher, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Marketing Officer of Xcoal Energy & Resources, Day 2 of the conference will open with presentations on market outlooks and current and future industry economic trends. Delegates will hear from industry experts from H&W Worldwide Consulting Pty Ltd., McCloskey by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company, and Wood Mackenzie.
We will then explore the logistics of moving our valuable Canadian coal to market. Presentations and discussion from Western Canadian Shippers’ Coalition, RailState, Trigon Pacific Terminals Ltd., and Port of Vancouver will provide an in-depth look at Canada’s transportation and freight capabilities.
