Cordless Cap Lamps from Provix are a crucial part of personal protective equipment (PPE) in underground mining and tunnelling.
The Wisdom Cap lamps act as an important visual aid for miners where darkness prevails. Conventional cap lamps utilize a battery pack that is worn on the miner’s belt. The battery is connected to the lamp by a power cable that potentially poses a hazard by getting hooked on machinery or equipment. Feedback from miners has also indicated that the battery pack can cause bruising when entering or exiting vehicles. Wisdom lamps solve this problem.
Provix is a Canadian mining supply company whose mission statement is ‘Now I Can See!’ Provix has partnered with Wisdom to present the world’s brightest, cordless cap lamp to Canadian mining communities. These cap lamps have become increasingly popular in Canada because of the innovative design, long run time and the brilliant illumination over multiple settings.

Cordless
Wisdom Cordless cap lamps attach to the miner’s hard hat via an adjustable clip that allows for directional aiming of the light beam. There is no cord because the battery is integrated into the cap lamp shell. Without a cord, which acts as a tether strap on the hard hat and to the belt, the lamp is much more convenient and comfortable for the miner to wear. Paired with a brighter light and a reduction of hazards from the dangling cord, the cordless cap lamp is the way of the future in underground mining.
Longer Lasting Battery
A high-power lithium-ion battery pack is integrated into the cap lamp shell to keep the lamp running through an entire 12-hour shift on medium setting, or up to 20 hours on low. Re-Charging time on the CSA-approved racks from Provix is only five hours. Keep in mind that the Wisdom lamps from Provix have a two-year warranty, and this includes the battery.
Feedback from existing users indicate very little reason to turn on the higher power setting as ample light is available with the regular setting. The cap lamp is on a rotatable hard-hat/helmet clip, which effectively illuminates a work surface without any need for head tilting! Various coloured lenses are available for different applications or functions. SOS function can be activated easily from the main power switch.

Waterproof
Wisdom Cordless cap lamps from Provix are fully submersible. With the ability to descend to 20 meters under water, these lamps have a fully-waterproof design and utilise stainless steel for all the metal components. IP68 certification ensures that moisture will not penetrate or affect the functioning of the lamps.
Lightweight
Wisdom Cap lamps from Provix weigh only 169 grams, and that includes the Lithium-Ion battery. With a lightweight lamp attached to the hard hat, worker fatigue is reduced while, at the same time, comfort level is increased. Alert workers who can see properly can perform their jobs more effectively and with increased safety.
A Two-Year Warranty
When you purchase a Wisdom cap lamp, it is fully warranted for a two year period. This includes the battery life. Warranty service on Wisdom cap lamps is available directly from Provix. Replacements are in stock and warranty claims can be resolved immediately. If the lamp is not physically damaged, it will be replaced during the warranty period.
